What are Proof of Age Standards Scheme?
Proof of Age Standards Scheme (PASS) are physical cards issued to a citizen to enable them to prove their age during age restricted transactions. They are also known as Proof of Age Cards.
The PASS card scheme is operated by a Community Interest Company providing accreditation to suppliers of Proof of Age Cards in the UK. The card suppliers are assessed against strict standards by our team qualified auditors on behalf of the PASS Board to ensure that they operate to the highest standards. Sellers of age restricted products can be confident in accepting cards with a PASS holograms, safe in the knowledge that the scheme is supported by the police, trading standards and a wide range of trade bodies.
How do we test the Proof of Age Standards Scheme?
In order to apply to become a PASS accredited card issuer, applicants will need to apply directly to the PASS Scheme, but we can assist with pre-audit checks if you want to understand what you will need to do to achieve accreditation.
If you are developing a new Proof-of-Age ID Card, you will need to get this accredited by the PASS Scheme Board. We can provide you with:
- Pre-Audit Assessment of your approach against the PASS Standards
- A Pre-Approval Audit as a part of your PASS Accreditation Application (This is a mandatory part of your application)
- Ongoing Audit & Surveillance of your PASS Accreditation (This is required every two years, but we can also provide supply chain audit and assessment for your service providers)
